Nickelodeon Universe

I took the kids to the MOA and Nickelodeon Universe when they had a day off in March. I bought them unlimited ride wristbands and they had a lot of fun!

Caroline, Her New American Girl Doll

Isabel had been saving her money and finally she has saved up half the money she needed to buy a new American Girl doll. This one (Caroline) looks like her with all one length blond curls and green eyes.
This is the doll of the year for 2013 and they had a display up for it for picture opportunities!

MOA Fun With Friends

Last night we went to the Mall of America right after school with a bunch of friends to go the MN SEALife Aquarium (we are really getting our money's worth from the membership), then met Sponge Bob.....

We are missing 2 kids that didn't want their picture taken with SpongeBob.

Then on to Legoland, and dinner at the Rainforest Cafe, and another trip through the aquarium.

Our friends Rebecca, Scott, Casey & Dani are moving in about a month, so we won't get to do all these fun trip with them anymore as they are moving to Arkansas.

MOA Day Trip

Isabel didn't have school on Monday this week, so we met some friends at the Mall of America to have some fun and check out some of the places that had made some changes since we have been there last. The MN SEA Life Aquarium (formerly Underwater Adventures) recently reopened with more animals and a larger exhibit. They reopend in March. Also, Legoland reopened with new statues & play areas in December (I think.) There were no character visits at Nickelodeon Universe on this day, so Isabel asked if she could at least have her picture taken by the murals. We also had lunch at the Rainforest Cafe which is a fun experience too, but I didn't take any pictures there. It was a good day and we got to spend times with 4 other families at the MOA.

MOA: Dora Toddler Tuesday

We called it "Dora Day" because it was Dora & the Pirate Treasure Hunt Toddler Tuesday at the Mall of America today. We have been waiting for this all summer. I have not stayed at the MOA this long with both the kids before. They both fell asleep within minutes of getting in the car to go home.

Isabel was so thrilled to meet Dora (again) and she went by her twice today. Each time the attendants working with Dora pointed out how Isabel was wearing a Dora dress and Dora sandals. Isabel felt pretty special that Dora saw that she was wearing her on her clothes.

This time we were able to go on the rides, not as many as we would have liked to because it was CRAZY busy. We have never been there when so many people were there. People must have not liked the morning rain and were sick of the hot weather and extreme humidity and wanted to be inside. Isabel went on the Wonder Pets ride 6 times. It's her favorite. She wanted to try the bumper cars again, but still doesn't like them and looks like she was on the verge of tears every time someone would hit her.

As part of Toddler Tuesday, they showed a Dora video on the screen & kids could meet Dora. They also had pirate hats to make and a map to go on a treasure hunt in Nickelodeon Universe (which at the three treasure chests they got a chocolate gold coin, an eye patch, and a periscope), and Underwater Adventures was there with a table to explore some living & non-living sea creatures. I still have not take the kids to the actual Underwater Adventures; it's just so expensive, even the yearly pass is kinda spendy. Maybe when the kids are a little older we'll get the family pass (since Henry would be free) and they can both appreciate it more.

It was a pretty great day!

Summer Fun

Today we went to Toddler Tuesday at the MOA. Isabel was such a trooper with her brother who is teething and not feeling good about being up & about. We didn't get to do as much as we had planned (& the ran out of movie tickets withing 15 minutes) but she did get to do the crafts they had there, go to Legoland, have lunch at Kokomo's (best Mac & Cheese!) and go meet Dora & Boots.
This was a project we did at the end of last week and still have some in the freezer to eat. It's pretty yummy!
