Tuesday, August 1st (Trip to Winery)
This is just a picture in one of the 3 bedrooms at the cabin. This bedroom has 2 twin beds in it with enough room to put the pack & play w/ bassinett insert (which is nice!). So, we set up this room as Isabel's room. One bed has the changing pad on it and the other end was used to hold her jammies and to swaddle her on. The other 2 bedrooms at the cabin both have full beds.
Daddy spent some time telling her a lot of stories about how his great-great grandpa built the cabin and what he remembers about him and then all sorts of stories about daddy being there as a kid.
On Tuesday, we went to Carlos Creek Winery. They have a life-size chess board there you can play, but since I don't play chess we didn't do it. They had live music there (it was in the middle of the day on a Tuesday in the summer - so that was impressive.) We just did the wine tasting and walked around the gift shop & then went to the Butler's Pantry (a restaurant-esque place that we bought this fabulous Turtle Tart at - perfect dessert for that evening back at the lake.) Because Isabel was with us and getting tired we didn't want to haul her all over the place, but they have a nice set up there with some cute little things to take pictures at (you know the type of things that you see and say "I want you to take my picture by this." And lots of seating areas outside & inside. They also have beautiful grounds you can tour (lots of nice flowers) and a maze built out of grapevines (that you can try to find your way out of) and a wine cave. We hope next time we are able to go there we can do more of the stuff there.
