Sunday - July 30th (1st Time Swimming)

Grrrr! I'm a Bear.
We actually decided to leave on Saturday night for the cabin. We thought it would be a good idea, thinking she would sleep the whole time, but nope, she didn't. The street lights and business lights we would pass would keep her up. But it was nice to be up there already because then we could get settled into the cabin in the AM and this in the afternoon we could go swimming. Seeing that the nation is havnig 100+ degree weather, it was really nice to be at a lake on Sunday & Monday so that we could get wet.

A note about the bear - we read in the local paper for Lake Ottertail and apparently there was a bear sighting within a mile of the cabin.

Sunday's outfit is a Pampers onesie and Carter's shorts. A pretty gender neutral outfit I suppose.

Cries

Here we are taking Isabel swimming for the first time. We were only able to take her 2 times, as it cooled down a bit and the wind picked up the remaining days and she would have hated it. She would cry right in the beginning because lake water is always a bit cool to the touch until you gets used to it. After she got used to it she was fine.

A Cool Dip

By the expression on her face you think I dunked her in or something. Nope. Kept the baby in the water only up to her armpits.

Check Out That Backside

Ok -pay no attention to the bald spot on the back of her head. It's kinda stupid that she has that bald spot because she does not sleep on the back of her head, her head is always to the side. But when she is having trouble falling asleep or transitioning between her deep & light sleep phases she turns her head and and forth and rubs the hair off.

But really what I wanted you to see was the back of the swimsuit. Isn't is so cute how it is cut out like that and has these little beach balls dangling down. Just darling. It's a new little Gymboree swimsuit, a 3-6mo. size one.

Isabel & Mommy

You know - I have a hat for her that matches this swimsuit (sunglasses too), but I just grabbed this one that I always have her wear on walks & well, pretty much anytime we go outside. I guess I just forgot about the other hat & glasses, although she would have never liked to wear the sunglasses. This hat is from Gymboree too. They just make the cutest things.
